What is The GIMP? Let me tell you.

Ready to start graphics design but no cash for Photoshop? Look into The GIMP, the GNU Image Manipulation Program. It's a free, open source solution for you needs. Also know as the free Photoshop!

I reccomend installing GIMP from a mirror on it's site (link here). Download the installer (or source) and run the program.

Once it loads, you can see your interface: layers, brushes, and tools. They are stored in separate windows so you can close them. Open them again by selecting "View" and clicking on the toolbar you desire.

Any questions? Try a crash course. Ask about your problems here. I'm not exactly an expert but I'll be glad to help!

Gimp's awesome. Considering it's free, it can do a heck of a lot. If you check my gallery out (in the appropriate section) you'll see 3 of my creations made from scratch on it.

Really, it's great. Go for it guys (and girls!).

Gimp really is a good program though im still a noob at it really works good if you don't got the money to get photoshop
