Point System

You could add a point system, and when users do things around the forum they earn points. For example, if a user wins SOTW they would get about 30 points. You could also set it so when a user posts they automatically get points. When users get a required amount of points they could buy things such as a custom rank, their site advertised on the forum index, a name change, etc. What do you think, Guest?

Thanks. We should also have a section where people could have signature battles. Whoever gets the most votes for their sig wins.

I agree completely with the point system. It's much more effective for gaining extra posts the forum needs so people can acquire points to "buy" things from other members or GC such as graphics and whatnot. I think it's a great idea. The point system was made for forums like this.

.d is correct. This is being talked over in the staff forums. A decision will be anounced when it is made.

Previoulsy, the point system was unreliable and had issues with point donations and PPF (points per forum). Just something to think about...

We're referring to the Forumotion point system.

Dorsay smells like a bot, thats a direct quote from wikipedia. I will keep my eye on him and take action if needed.

Point systems are good, they usually increase user activity. But if the site contains immature user, spamming levels can increase exponentially.

In other words, its a good recommendation for this site. I haven't spotted spammers yet. (The Major Kind)

I really like the signature battle idea. I've seen it on other graphics forums and I think that would be a good addition to this one.
