Important GraphicsCode Rules

Post by Admin 2009-07-19, 11:08

These are the official rules of GraphicsCode.net:

Topic Titles: should consist of appropriate words relating to your subject of matter. Words such as “Urgent, Help, SOS, Hurry etc” are not tolerated, as they inflict with the search option, by then, users cannot search up topics. Note, fully capitalised titles must be avoided.

Post Content: should be thorough and have enough content for other members to help answer. Other members shouldn’t need to ask you a question when you are asking a question. Remember, you can describe your problem through images, links and resources. Note, when making a graphics showcase post or graphic related, please follow the rules pinned to each forum.

Language on this Forum: must be written in English. GraphicsCode.net is an English only forum and any topic/post made which is not in English will be dealt with appropriately. When writing, you should avoid SMS style messages, LeetSpeak and deliberate mistakes in text.

Colours and Text Style: should be minimalistic. Members shouldn’t be welcomed to a page full of “wonderful colours” with different font sizes, and the over use of bold, italics and underline. It is not forbidden, however abuse may lead to a warning. Full capitalization is considered shouting and rude, unless it is put into context appropriately. Please keep it to the default font and size unless it is used appropriately.

Flooding and Off-Topic: must be avoided. Redirecting the course of discussion is rude and the original poster may feel their question has been avoided. Also, one word posts such as “lol, rofl, lamo” or a single smiley must be avoided as it is considered spam. Note, excessive smilies are also not allowed.

Comments: made must be in align with moral ethics. Defamatory, racist, hateful, pornographic, illegal or insulting content must be avoided on this forum. Everyone has a different view and so you must respect that, regardless if you agree or disagree. The forum is not a place for flame wars and conflicts. Please use the PM system or someplace else.

Bumping: is allowed and here at GraphicsCode.net, there is no time limit. However, you must respect and acknowledge that your topic is not the only one there. Constant 5 minute bumps must be avoided, and so please be patient with your topic.

Respect: for all members are vital, but a higher level of respect towards the moderators and administrators is essential. All moderators are voluntary workers, with a real life outside of the internet.

Moved topics: are moved for an appropriate reason, and are moved to an appropriate place. If you disagree, or cannot find your topic, please PM a moderator or administrator for help. Prior to messaging a staff member, please use the search tool for finding your topics.

Avatars: must be of appropriate nature and size. Please keep it to 150*200 px in dimensions. Also, keep the size as low as possible as there are some users with low internet connection speeds.

Signatures: may contain links and images to your site or forum. It is there to personalize your post. However, users do not want to see a collage of images that cover a full screen. They will be moved without warning. We are not responsible for lost images and links.

Advertising: on this forum is only acceptable if the link is located in your signature, or profile. You may, however, post a helpful link that may give advice to users.

Backseat Moderation: on the forums is allowed, but at a certain level. You may tell users to read the rules, or tell them that this topic must be made there, but please state it in a friendly tone. Moderation at high levels or in a rude tone must be avoided.

ForuMotion Rules: must be followed in line with GraphicsCode.net rules.

Note: these rules are subject to change. Please ensure you update yourself.
